<h2>Get It Ready </h2>
Before you do anything else, start by turning the TV off and unplugging it. It&rsquo;s always good to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to expensive TV sets.

To clean your TV screen, use a soft, microfiber cloth -- not a paper towel or an old t-shirt or whatever else you were initially planning to use. You also want to make sure to be gentle as you clean, as pressing too hard on the screen can damage it. And of course, make sure to wipe down the entire screen!

<h2>Restoring the Remote </h2>

Start by taking the batteries out before trying to clean the remote. These things can get pretty grimy sometimes, so pull out the rubbing alcohol and a cloth and get to work. You may even need to use a toothpick to really get into the buttons or crevices -- it may be gross but your remote will be all the better for it!

<h2>Reading Rainbow</h2>
Your TV probably came with a user guide or manual of some sort. That&rsquo;s always a good place to check for any brand specific information or tips that the manufacturer may have for cleaning your TV. And if you're really lucky, your set may have even come with a cleaning cloth to use!

<h2>Chemicals are bad, Mkay</h2>
You may be used to cleaning furniture and other appliances with chemical or other window cleaners. Do not -- we repeat, do NOT use these on your TV, no matter the circumstances. Many of these contain chemicals that will damage your TV, and there&rsquo;s nothing worse than accidentally breaking a new set just when you were trying to sparkle it up.
