2. Adventure Time (HBO Max, June 25)
It’s time for a quadruple adventure -- HBO is releasing not one, not two, but four hour long “Adventure Time” specials, starting with “Adventure Time: Distant Lands - BMO” in June.
If you have been in mourning since the show wrapped up in 2018, this is a great chance to revisit the beloved universe, or a perfect jumping off point if you’ve never yet had the pleasure of checking out this cartoon hit.
3. Lady Bird (Amazon Prime, June 3)
Hilarious, witty, and charming, Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-nominated film “Lady Bird” is hitting Amazon Prime this summer. If you missed this gem while it was in theaters, don’t make that mistake a second time around.
Set in Sacramento, “Lady Bird” stars Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf in a coming of age story that will pull at your heartstrings while it tickles your funny bone. It’s just that great.
4. Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy (Netflix, June)
They’re back, and they're in disguise -- a brand new animated series in the “Transformers” universe is coming this summer. Sure, it’s not a “Beast Wars” revival, but this trilogy is shaping up to be a great addition to the “Transformers” cannon … er, canon.
5. Artemis Fowl (Disney+, June 12)
Fina---fowl---ly. After what seems like a lifetime, the infamous child criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl finds himself hitting the little screen in a direct-to-Disney+ movie. Will it live up to the years of fan expectations? We’re only a fairy’s flight away from finding out!
