We Make it Simple!
1. Keep the Lamp Cool
Projection TVs generate a lot of static electricity – As a result they attract a lot of dust. Periodically clean the air vents on the back of the TV, and if there is an air filter, remove it and clean it at least once a year.
Also, do not plug your TV into a "switched outlet" - When you turn off the TV, you'll also be turning off the internal cooling fan.
2. Use the Power Save or Economy Mode
If your projection TV has a “Power Saver” or “Economy Mode,” use it - It’s easier on your lamp when powering up, and reduces wear on the bulb when in use.
3. Minimize the Brightness
Adjusting your Brightness setting to around 50% can significantly extend your lamp life. If your projection TV has an “iris” setting, increase this setting to offset the reduction in brightness.
4. Let it Work, Then Rest
Turning your projection TV on and off too frequently can reduce the lamp life. Ideally, you should let the bulb “rest” for 30 to 60 minutes after turning off your projection TV before turning it back on. This will minimize the number of “surges” your lamp experiences to power up.
